ABOUT CHARLOTTE CARRICK

Script Editor, Development Assistant, Storyteller & Creator

Since 2021, I have honed my editorial skills at Emmerdale, working as both an Editorial Coordinator and Storyliner. In 2023, I secured a place on Script Ed with Screen Yorkshire, where I completed a placement with RED Productions. I was also awarded a ScreenSkills bursary to complete the John Yorke Story for Script Development course. Additionally, I have read, researched, and assessed projects for various production companies, including Euston Films, Duck Soup, and 42. More recently, I have branched out into book adaptation for the screen, reading for Forage Literary.

In the past, I have worked for Chapel FM Arts Organisation and The Performance Ensemble Theatre Company.

My writing has been performed at the Everyman Theatre, Theatre 53two, The Cockpit Theatre, Ye Old Rose & Crown, and Leeds Playhouse. This year, I was longlisted for the Rope Ladder Regional Breakthrough Writers Programme in partnership with ScreenSkills and Dandi, as well as the Access Northern Writers’ Programme led by Warner Bros, Wall to Wall, and The Royal Court. I am currently supported by The Writing Squad and New Writing North's Script Hub, funded by Channel 4.

I have been involved in many collaborative projects and performances with various northern institutions, such as Yorkshire Dance, Canal Connections, and Leeds College of Music.

I possess a strong interest in and commitment to the arts and cultural sector, which I believe is a vital tool for change.

Give Us The Power #FundFencing

The 'Give us the Power' campaign shows British Fencing fighting against the funding cut in order to give GB fencers the best training and support possible on their journey to major worldwide competitions. This campaign was produced by Bachelors students studying at University of the Arts London, produced by Celine Ramseyer and directed by Helen Uleksin. They wanted to represent the loss of funding having an impact on the fencer’s ability to win by flickering the fencer’s equipment on and off, removing his ability to fence. Donate here - https://mydonate.bt.com/events/fundfencing/467151? -- With your support, British fencers will be able to enter competitions all over the world to ensure they qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. British Fencing's recent loss of UK Sport funding has resulted in athletes paying entry fees, flights and accommodation plus all of their expenses out of their own pocket unless they have secured sponsorship. #FundFencing has been created to spearhead a number of campaigns that will support GB athletes' dreams come true by entering the 2020 Olympic games and all the competitions between now and then. With your kind support, you'll help pay for entry fees, travel costs, training fees and accommodation but most of all, you will allow fencers to concentrate on being athletes and reduce the worry of sourcing funding that will enable them to train for longer and be the best fencers they can be! Please help us spread the word of #FundFencing by sharing content on social media! Want to raise funding for the BF Charity? Contact British Fencing at headoffice@britishfencing.com Sponsorship options are still available for teams and individual athletes, please contact headoffice@britishfencing.com
